I really wish the photograph above was me - but it isn't. I'll search around for a suitably flattering one, consult Trump's wigmaker and makeup artist and perhaps post it here...
Anyway, I'm a bloke, in my early seventies (yes and working a computer!), with quite a few of my own teeth, married with a large family of kids, their spouses and plenty of grandchildren. After spending my entire career in international business I retired some years ago, did some consultancy, sometimes got paid for it and now I devote my time to voluntary work, family, and enjoying the splendour of Dorset's Jurassic coast, both afloat and on land.
Writing has always fascinated me; I should have made it my career but in the sixties I chose instead to study the sciences that would fast track me to university. I've often been asked to give careers advice to young people and my answer has always been the same: find out what you're good at and pursue it as far as you can. It's not a strategic choice and it might take a while to earn a decent living, but you'll feel good. Not many took my advice, preferring to chase the money, just like me.
My final assignment was in China. Probably the most enjoyable, fascinating and demanding of my career. I've got a few stories from our time there which I'll share with you before too long. I might even have a 'China' section of the Blog if I can work out how to do it.
That's enough about me. More titbits, quirks, foibles, opinions might become evident as we go along. So let's enjoy the mystery tour together!
